SoundTraxx has announced the CurrentKeeperIII™ (item 810164), its most compact keep-alive yet for DCC installs that need to ride through brief power loss.
The module measures 10.1 × 6.8 × 4.2 mm, uses a 2-pin Micro JST connection, and stores 470 µF for short-term backup through dirty track, insulated frogs, or momentary pickup gaps. Input is rated at 16 V / 100 mA. Typical hold time is about 0.5–0.75 seconds depending on the locomotive, decoder, and load; it is built for brief interruptions rather than long dead spots. All SoundTraxx CurrentKeepers are compatible with NMRA DCC Standards & Recommended Practices. MSRP is $19.95.
