Kato (Japan) has announced an N scale N700-6000 series Shinkansen “Kodama” 8-car set (item 10-2167). The model covers JR West’s P4 formation, shortened from a 16-car N700-5000 Small-A set for Sanyo Shinkansen Kodama duties, with added pantographs, selected blocked side windows, and the white body with blue stripe.
Features include the firm’s body-tilt mechanism, a slotless motor, head/tail lights that show from the side as on the prototype, black printed destination boards with destination stickers, and optional LED interior lighting kits (#11-213/#11-214). Suggested ship date is August 27, 2026.
This April international batch also included UK Hitachi Class 802/803 sets (TransPennine Express / Lumo) alongside other Japan-market items; the N700-6000 Kodama 8-car is the lead subject here.
