Kato has announced new Rhaetian Railway (RhB) models for its 1:150 metre-gauge line on N track: the Ge 4/4 II 631 “Südostschweiz”, Ge 4/4 II 611 in revival green, and green EW I passenger and luggage cars.
Ge 4/4 II 631 (3102-E, €148.63) carries the advertising wrap for the Graubünden daily newspaper Südostschweiz, with different body colours at each end and a graduated colour change through the centre. Ge 4/4 II 611 (3102-5, €129.25) is the first locomotive of the class as restored in green by the GRÜN & CHROM preservation group in spring 2023, 50 years after the class debuted. It is modeled as it runs today, with rectangular head/tail lights and added front jumper sockets, and a replacement Arnold coupler is included. Both locomotives have a slotless motor, warm-white LED headlights, Glacier Express short couplers, and a 150 mm minimum radius, and accept the DN163K4A decoder (29-025).
The green EW I cars are the A 1230 first-class coach (5275), the B 2371 second-class coach (5277), and the D 4226 luggage car (5274), at €30.15 each. They represent the as-delivered green livery, with silver passenger doors, pre-refurbishment toilet arrangements on the coaches, and the luggage car before its pantograph was fitted and several windows were plated over. Replacement Arnold couplers and gangway bellows are included. The EW I coaches arrived in the 1960s, and the luggage cars were built in 1980 with EW II-style bodies.
The green 611 is scheduled for May 2027.
