Broadway Limited has announced a new run of N scale 40′ wood stock cars based on the PRR K7A design.
Sound-equipped cars are sold singly (MSRP $59.99) with motion-activated livestock or holiday audio, adjustable sensitivity/volume via the included magnetic tool, and DC/DCC operation without DCC sound control. Non-sound cars come in two-packs (MSRP $49.99). Both versions include separately applied details and Micro-Trains-compatible knuckle couplers and run on Code 55/70/80 track (9.75″ minimum radius).
Sound schemes include ATSF, D&RGW, Great Northern (Big Sky Blue and red), MKT, New York Central jade green, and Union Pacific (yellow/brown and red/silver), each with cattle or hog sounds as offered, plus Independence Day (patriotic songs) and Merry Christmas (holiday songs) fantasy cars. Matching no-sound 2-packs cover the same roads and holiday schemes.
The PRR K7a was a 40-foot wooden stock car converted from X24 boxcars in the 1930s; nearly 1,500 were in service at peak.
Order deadline is September 3, 2026, with estimated December 2026 delivery.
