Atlas has announced Trainman N 50’6″ ACF box cars as part of its Spring 2026 HO & N catalog. The run mixes new paint schemes, new road numbers, and a limited-edition collectors scheme on the existing Trainman tooling.
Road names include CSX (ex-A&WP), Maine Central (Guilford), Missouri Pacific (ex-Railbox), Railbox (graffiti alternate-history schemes), Union Pacific (“Blizzard Bus”), Union Pacific MOW, Wheeling & Lake Erie, and BNSF. Details include prototypical non-terminating corrugated ends, a diagonal paneled roof, a single 10-foot YSD sliding door (non-operating), detailed cross-member attachment rivets on the side sills, weighted underframes, true scale dimensions, and AccuMate knuckle couplers. MSRP is $26.95.
In 1974 ACF built the first of these 50’6″ interior-length Plate C cars for Railbox; more than 5,000 followed for Class Is, shortlines, and leasing companies at roughly 5,300 cubic feet.
Pre-order deadline for the Spring 2026 catalog items is April 15, 2026. Delivery is scheduled for 4th Quarter 2026.
